About deerheart sanctuary
Mission
Grounded in love and respect for this land and the
spirits of this land, deerheart sanctuary is an offering
of gratitude for this life and the opportunity to enter
the silence and heal all of the places we have been
taught to hide from our truth.
Roots
Michelle St. Pierre created deerheart sanctuary as a place where
people from the meditative arts community of Hornby Island and
visitors can gather and deepen their spiritual journey.
This sanctuary has been Michelle's vision for over 10 years.
She was drawn to the land by the profound presence of the forest
and creek. In 2003 a small inheritance made it possible to claim
stewardship of this land and to build a beautiful yurt temple
for prayer and inner contemplation.
deerheart was birthed in the summer of 2004.
Michelle lives on the land with Kevin, her son Zack, and
two cats.
