Hello Deerhearts!
A heart felt thank you to Ed Hoeppner for holding the space Wednesday and Saturday mornings through out the winter and early spring for the community to explore 'The Principles of T'ai Chi'. This was offered by donation and all proceeds were directed toward the heating fund for the yurt. Thank you Ed! Some of the exercises have certainly become part of my daily routine.
Kevin has been working on the trails, clearing many fallen trees and overgrowth so that we might all enjoy a safe, peaceful walk in the forest. Thank you Kevin for donating your time (and Bindi...for keeping him company)!
Once again, a final thank you to all those who donated so generously toward the new heating system in the yurt. It certainly does the job and I am looking forward to gatherings this fall and winter!
I am thrilled to say that we are having three musical events in the yurt this spring! Unfortunately two of these cannot be offered by donation because the artists are traveling very long distances to be with us and their costs are high. Please check below and the website for more details!
When I was very young...a wise, much older friend once said to me....'never forget to take the time to lay down and gaze at the clouds'....may we all cultivate some relaxation and peace during this very busy time!
Blessings, Michelle

Gita Yawaste in concert...featuring Hornby's own Maria-Bonita Kapitany!
8pm Cost: Suggested donation $10
Gita Yawaste (pronounced Geeta Ya-wash-tay) is an unlikely grouping of musicians brought together by guitarist/vocalist Phil Rossner in order to do chant/song from all spiritual traditions. Their name, Gita Yawaste, reflects what they are wishing to convey - a celebration of spiritual diversity. "Gita" is Sanskrit for "song" and Yawaste is Lakota for "blessing". Original members are Maria-Bonita Kapitany, Mark Batterbury and Phil Rossner. David Nicol joined the group in October, 2009.
